FUNDRAISING CAN BE SIMPLE
Sometimes it is a case of who you already know - do you work for a company who may want to adopt us as their charity of the year, or maybe they would donate a prize for us to raffle or auction, be it a voucher, an activity or a product they sell or produce. Some companies also provide Match Funding for employees who fundraise, where every pound you raise is matched by them, doubling the amount received by the Charity. It's worth checking if your employer does this.
You could simply collect loose change at home - every penny really does count!
You could collect used stamps and send them into the office, with more and more people communicating electronically postage stamps are becoming rarer. We are able to sell them on and raise funds from them.
You could come along to one of our upcoming events. One of our annual events took place for 30 years and people came back year after year, it was such a fantastic night!
A simple follow on Facebook and Instagram helps us reach more people, and takes very little effort.
FUNDRAISING CAN BE CHALLENGING
Some people enjoy a challenge - one of the easiest ways to do this is to sign up to an organised event, such as a local 5k or 10k run or (if you are really wanting to challenge yourself) a marathon. Events such as "Tough Mudder" and "Total Warrior" have become very popular recently. The majority of these organised events let you take part on behalf of a Registered Charity of your choice. If you need more information or have already registered to run for us, please get in touch. We can provide you with T-Shirts and sponsor forms.
FUNDRAISING CAN BE FUN
You can have great FUN fundraising, and help raise money for a great cause at the same time.
Some ideas are very simple too! And with social media and websites such as Just Giving, you no longer have to worry about collecting cash from friends and family - everything can be done online.
Supporters can simply set up their own fundraising page on Just Giving, email or share on social media with all their friends, family and contacts. Donations are made online, the money is automatically gift aided (an extra 25% on top of the donation) and transferred to our bank account. Simple!
FUNDRAISING CAN BE ANYTHING
There are literally hundreds of fundraising ideas, from coffee mornings to garden parties, tombolas to cake stalls, head shaves to face painting.
Maybe you have a hobby which you could fundraise from, i.e. selling your handmade craft items with a percentage donated to the Charity. Or a keen gardener with surplus plants or vegetables to give away to friends and family in exchange for a donation.
The list is endless!
